The department of Clinical Engineering has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Biomedical Engineer II to work at UHealth. The Biomedical Technician 2 performs a variety of routine tasks, including the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of biomedical equipment with minimum supervision. + Plans and organizes the monthly preventive maintenance work orders to ensure timely completion and documentation of the inspection, testing and maintenance work orders. + Plans three months in advance for the required availability of supplies and parts to perform PM activities. + Prioritizes all medical equipment repairs and documentation requirements. + Coordinates third party vendors PM activities to ensure timely completion and documentation. + Provides timely communication to all service requests and customer issues. + Mentors lower-level technicians on a regular basis to improve competencies. + Supervise and instruct biomedical equipment maintenance personnel in the safe use, application, testing, and preventive maintenance and repair of all types of clinical equipment technologies and systems. + Provide operational leadership to personnel and possibly serve as temporary site manager in absence of the manager/supervisor. + Recommend new equipment and testing procedures. + Maintain accurate inventory, tracking both the addition and deactivation of clinical equipment. + Provide in-service educational programs on use of equipment. + Collaborate with IT to ensure HIPAA Compliance and connectivity of biomedical devices. Minimum Qualifications + Associate degree in relevant field + Minimum 2 years of relevant experience Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes: + Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail. + Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines. + Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion. + Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary. + Commitment to the University’s core values. + Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
